Accessibility
Oatlands strives to provide the best possible accessibility to the historic house, grounds, and facilities to meet our visitors’ diverse abilities and needs. Spending time at Oatlands, however, involves a fair amount of standing and walking, including a quarter-mile round-trip walk with an incline and uneven ground from the Carriage House Visitor Center to the mansion. Our gardens are tiered and include steps that may be difficult to traverse.
Oatlands is for everyone. We are committed to making this historic site welcoming, inclusive and accessible to all visitors. But this is a work in progress. We continuously seek ways to improve access while preserving the integrity of this nationally significant landscape.
For questions about accessibility or to discuss specific needs before your visit, please contact us at 703-727-0670.
