A gentle yoga session led by instructor Yvonne Parrotte and contemplative garden walk with master naturalist Cathy Norman, combined with a fascinating monarch talk by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy’s Nicole Hamilton.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Oatlands and LWC and support our joint efforts on the Monarch initiative.

Sunday, June 23rd Oatlands’ Greenhouse Birthday Party and Enjoy cake, balloons, and singing for the newly restored greenhouse’s 203rd birthday, and get involved with Oatlands’ Monarch Waystation by helping us plant 100 new milkweeds (butterfly plants), which monarch butterflies need to survive! Two hour walk and talk on a butterfly trail through Oatlands’ garden and grounds, where you’ll see examples of habitat, discuss Oatlands’ natural history, and look out for butterflies as we spot and identify as many species as we can.

Gathering of the Butterflies
Everyone loves a parade! Oatlands and our local partners will be working together this summer to rear monarchs for release. We invite all aspiring butterflies to put on their wings and come together to celebrate with a parade of winged children (all types of butterflies and fairies welcome!)
